Own Your Story
Your story is the thread that connects where you’ve been to where you’re going.
Own Your Story: From Resume Recital to Resonate Storytelling gives you the structure, language, and examples you need to talk about yourself with ease. Whether you are preparing for interviews or stepping into a new season, this guide helps you communicate who you are in a way that feels compelling and aligned.
You need this workbook if…
You feel confident doing the work and less confident talking about it.
You tend to ramble or overexplain when nerves take over.
You want a simple structure that keeps your story focused and aligned.
You are preparing for a pivot, promotion, or job search and want to speak about your work with authority.
“Kashia has helped me reframe how I think about interviewing and encouraged me to see it as a form of storytelling. Coming prepared with a compelling narrative for the employer that aligns with the job's needs has helped me think critically about what I can add to the organization, making me feel more prepared and confident, not as if I'm begging for a job.”
— Mali D.
By the end of this guide, you’ll have…
A focused “Tell Me About Yourself” introduction you can deliver with confidence.
Polished STAR stories that highlight your skills in a clear and compelling way.
A simple framework that keeps you from spiraling into long or unfocused answers.
A stronger sense of your throughline so your story feels cohesive and strategic.
More confidence in how you communicate your value and the impact you create.

a quick note from me, to you.
For a long time, I was frustrated. I’d watch people with less experience land roles I knew I was qualified for, simply because they were better at interviewing.
Eventually, that frustration turned into awareness. I realized interviewing isn’t a personality trait — it’s a skill. And skills can be learned.
Once I understood that, everything shifted. I stopped trying to impress and started treating the process like something I could study, understand, and approach with intention.
The Own Your Story Workbook came from that shift. You don’t need to guess, over-explain, or hope you “sound right.” You just need structure, clarity, and a way to organize your stories so you can interview with confidence and ease.
