So nice to meet you!

HI, I'M KASHIA (NAKASHIA IF YOU WANT TO GET TECHNICAL).  IN CASE YOU'RE WONDERING, ITS PRONOUNCED LIKE TASHA BUT WITH A K.  SEE, THAT'S NOT SCARY AT ALL.  NOW THAT WE HAVE THAT OUT OF THE WAY, LET ME TELL YOU A BIT MORE ABOUT WHO I AM.

I am a Southern belle, Army brat, oldest child, and traveller.  Ever since I was little, I have been described as an inquisitive and artistic envelope-pusher, and I would not have it any other way.

Living in five countries and travelling to twelve (and counting) has taught me to adapt quickly and easily to new environments, thrive off of a little adventure, and keep a sense of humor.  Climbing active volcanoes, eating roasted cuy (guinea pig), and riding in a river canoe are all in my realm of normal, but so is working in an office, presenting at a conference, and producing highly technical work.  I am thankful that I feel at home in both of these worlds.

Globetrotting has proven to me that we are very different, but fundamentally the same which is what fuels my desire to do work that fosters global community.  By combining my love of travel, photography, and writing with my academic training and professional experiences, I am able to tell the stories of far-away places and advocate for positive change.  I am always searching for projects that provide an opportunity to do something new, yet meaningful in the larger sense - after all, we're in this together and the world is much smaller than it seems.
